April & May events...

We thought we'd beat the heat by leaving home at the crack of dawn (7:00) to join our friends Kelli, Erik, Carter & Lukas at the zoo. No matter what time of the day or what season you go, I think any mention of the word zoo automatically means a heat wave...it was in the low 70's upon arrival - topping 90 by the time we left at 12:45.

And they're off!
RED LIGHT!!
Plotting the next plan of escape... Is this a foreshadowing of future line-ups?
Emerson thoroughly loved the tram w/ the wind blowing in her face!!
If you look to the left, you will see some very "wild" binoculars...they are an endangered species in NC.
A huge egg - I guess of the prehistoric era...room for two
Although my child was made fun of for hugging the ant-eater's rump (I think he was just resting), at least he wasn't playing w/ the DUNG beatles!!!!!!

This monkey escaped from his cage!

Sometimes we get to see other "wildlife" that don't necessary live in the zoo, but maybe belong there?...
Is this a Flintstone's relic?
This mac-daddy was looking to pick up some wild life in that outfit! The wife-beater is a clincher!

Mom took Webb & Emerson to Bruster's Ice Cream - Webb's inaugural visit - this is the result! Purple Dinosaur was a hit!
Emerson's first attempt at brushing her teeth...
We were making cards for Webb and Emerson's teachers for Teacher Appreciation week last week. I stepped away to get more paper and returned to find this. He was concentrating so hard, he didn't even hear me return! You can imagine my dismay if you know how I don't like my hands to be dirty! But, a child's joy cannot be repressed b/c mom doesn't like to be dirty!
This was the preliminary clean-up phase before putting him in the tub. I didn't want Emerson to turn colors too!
