We thought we'd beat the heat by leaving home at the crack of dawn (7:00) to join our friends Kelli, Erik, Carter & Lukas at the zoo. No matter what time of the day or what season you go, I think any mention of the word zoo automatically means a heat wave...it was in the low 70's upon arrival - topping 90 by the time we left at 12:45.
And they're off!

Emerson's first attempt at brushing her teeth...
We were making cards for Webb and Emerson's teachers for Teacher Appreciation week last week. I stepped away to get more paper and returned to find this. He was concentrating so hard, he didn't even hear me return!
You can imagine my dismay if you know how I don't like my hands to be dirty! But, a child's joy cannot be repressed b/c mom doesn't like to be dirty!
This was the preliminary clean-up phase before putting him in the tub. I didn't want Emerson to turn colors too!
